2.4 GHz Cordless Answering System
Cordless Handset
With the cordless handset buttons facing you, the antenna is a narrow 2.6 inch long protrusion on the top right. Just
below the top on the front of the cordless handset is a shallow concave. This is the earpiece. The smooth surface
below the earpiece is the display, its upper edge is defined by a small ridge in the center of the cordless handset
below the earpiece. Immediately below the display, in the center of the cordless handset, is the NAVIGATOR KEY,
which is a large circular control with a corss-shaped concave and four active areas. The active areas are at the 12
o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock positions. The 12 and 6 o'clock positions are the UP and DOWN keys
and also control volume during a call. The 3 and 9 o'clock positions are the RIGHT and LEFT arrow keys. The 3
o'clock position is often used as "Yes" key during programming. These keys are also the EDIT and CHANNEL keys
respectively.
To the upper left of the NAVIGATOR KEY, an oval button with a clipped edge is the TALK button. The oval button
below the TALK button is the MUTE button. The MUTE button is also the FUNCTION button. To the upper right of
the NAVIGATOR KEY, an oval button is the OFF button. The oval button below the OFF button is the CLEAR
button. The CLEAR button is also the INTERCOM or HOLD button.
Below these buttons is the keypad laid out in the conventional telephone arrangement with a "nib" on the 5 button.
On the lower left below the keypad is the FLASH button. The FLASH button is also the CALL WAIT or
PLAYBACK button. On the lower right of the keypad is the REDIAL button. The REDIAL button is also the
PAUSE button.
