    Monitor Installation STEP 1: Charge Battery NOTE: Make sure switch is in the OFF (0) position. • The monitor has the internal battery already connected. However it is a good idea to make sure it is fully charged before use. With monitor in the OFF position, allow the sun to fully charge the battery (3 days) to ensure optimal battery life, or use an optional charger Part No:22-120.

  • Page 9 Ensure Your Fence System is Sound • Check all connection points such as splices, jumpers, and insulators are sound and secure • IMPROPER CONNECTION POINTS WILL AFFECT YOUR ELECTRIC FENCE PERFORMANCE. • Install the Fence Monitor at the furthest point from the energiser. Commands Commands must follow this format.
  • Page 10 REG Command. To pair up or register a sending mobile phone with the Fence Monitor, text REG to the phone number of the Fence Monitor SIM card. Only commands from the registered phone will be acted upon by the Fence Monitor. If REG is sent to the Fence Monitor from a different phone number, this will replace the existing registered phone (see also PIN command for extra security).

  • Page 12 BLS Command. When using a Pay-As-You-Go SIM you can include in the status mes- sages the remaining credit balance available on the account. This can be achieved when you first activate the SIM. To check the code Insert the sim into a mobile phone and enter the special sequence of charac- ters using the keypad.
  • Page 13 TLO Command. Sets the LOW temperature warning message. e.g. Sending the command: TLO^+10 will send an alert if the tempera- ture drops below 10 Text: TLO^xxxx^+10 where xxxx is the current PIN. Note 1: The Fence Monitor temperature range is -15 + 50 UNI FAH or CEL Command.
  • Page 14 Incorrect PIN “PIN error” A PIN was required but either not entered or entered incorrectly. Warnings: (1) Mobile phone network issues can delay sent/received messages.     Battery Maintenance Battery Maintenance • A low battery can be recharged by removing the battery and using a 6-volt charger (part no. 22-120). • When not in use, fully charge the battery before storage. Warning: Do not charge the solar powered electric fence Monitor battery with an automobile battery charger as this will damage the battery.
