The Digital MEMS Inclinometer System can accurately measure the rate, depth, and magnitude of these deviations. The Digital MEMS Inclinometer System measures lateral movement of earthworks or structures, landslides, and embankment fills.

Proper installation of the inclinometer casing attempts to align one set of grooves in line with the axis of expected movement.

This does not necessarily have to be the same depth marked on the inclinometer cable.
