8. Installation / Start up
The mixer must not run outside the medium (dry), as
the motor will heat up and may be damaged. It must be
made sure, that the mixer is at least so far submerged
that half the diameter of the propeller is covered.
The mixer must be adjusted only in the switched off
condition.
It must be made sure, that no person can involuntar-
ily fall into the mixing tank or basin. The foreseen protec-
tion (covers, railings, etc,) must have been mounted.
The electric cable must be tensioned so that it cannot
come into contact with the propeller. The electric cable
can be protected against damage by using a cable con-
duit.

9.2 Operating voltage / Direction of rotation

The voltage of the mains power supply must match the

voltage stated on the type plate.
After making the electrical connections ensure that the
mixer blades are rotating in the correct direction:

from the motor (U1, V1, W1, or U2, V2, W2) on the ter-
minal board. If this is done, they will no longer match the
Y-∆-starting controls.
9.3 Motor monitoring/ Motor protection
The motor is protected from overheating by thermal sen-
sors in the motor winding (bimetal). With the standard
(not ex-proof) mixers an oil-chamber leakage probe is
integrated, for the explosion-proof mixers a leakage
probe (oil-screw kit with externally led cable into the oil-
chamber) is available.

mixer from the power supply to avoid accidental starting
of the mixer!
In order to guarantee trouble-free operation and a long
durability without unnecessary and expensive repair
works, it is very important to have a regular and preven-
tive maintenance every six (6) months.
Mixers are often used under extreme operating condi-
tions. Therefore it is important to install a motor protec-
tion switch to prevent the motor from blowing due to ex-
cessive electricity uptake.
