Tire Conditions

Tire Air Pressure

Check the tire air
pressure before
operating the vehicle.

Tire Wear Limit

Check the tire surface
for damage, cracks,
or embedded objects.
When tire tread wears
down to 1 mm (0.04 in.),
replace the tire.
• Wheel nut tightening torque:
• 80 Nm, 8.0 m•kg (58 ft•Ib)
• Tire pressure is set to: 137 kPa, 1.4 kgf/cm2
(25 psi).

Tire Precautions

Warning:
Tires degrade over time depending on many factors such
as weather, storage conditions, and conditions of use (load, speed,
inflation pressure) the tires experience throughout their lives.
In general, tires should be replaced after six years regardless of tread wear.
However, heat causes by hot climates or frequent high loading conditions
can accelerate the aging process and may require tires to be replaced
more frequently.
You should replace your spare tire when you replace the road tires or after
six years due to aging even if it has not been used.
Warning:
Under-inflation is the most common cause of tire failures
and may result in severe tire cracking, tread separation or blowout,
with unexpected loss of vehicle control and increased risk of injury. Under-
inflation increases sidewall flexing and rolling resistance, resulting in head
buildup and internal damage to the tire. It also may result in unnecessary tire
stress, irregular wear, loss of vehicle control and accidents. A tire can lose up
to half of its air pressure and not appear to be flat!
Warning:
When you install a wheel, always remove any corrosion, dirt
of foreign materials present on the mounting surfaces of the wheel
of the surface of the wheel hub, brake drum or brake disc that contacts the
wheel. Make sure to secure any fasteners that attach the rotor to the hub
so they do not interfere with the mounting surfaces of the wheel. Installing
wheels without correct metal-to-metal contact at the wheel mounting
surfaces can cause the wheel nuts to loosen and the wheel to come off while
your vehicle is in motion, resulting in loss of vehicle control, personal injury or
death.
