Used for controlling and maintaining safe pressure levels on boil-
ers in heating systems, on stored hot water cylinders, in domestic
hot water systems and in closed heating/chilled water systems
generally against a rising pressure. To choose a Valco VSG Safety
Valve ensure the nominal boiler capacity.

INSTRUCTIONS
Factory Setting: Setting is carried out by the manufacturer and it
is forbidden to alter this pressure value or interfere with in any way.
Fitting and Installation: Can be fitted vertically or horizontally,
but not upside down. This prevents deposits of impurities from af-
fecting the correct functioning.
Before installing a safety valve, correct sizing must be carried out
by specialized technical personnel in accordance with the current
legislation governing the specific applications.
It shall not be used other than for its stated purpose.
The safety valve must be installed in line with the flow direction in-
dicated by the arrow on the valve body and should not be installed
with the blow-off opening facing upwards.
Heating system: The safety valve must be installed on the top of
the boiler or in the flow pipework at a distance of not more than
one metre from the boiler. The connecting pipework between the
safety valve and the boiler must not be interrupted.
Domestic hot water system: They must be installed close to the
stored hot water cylinder, taking care not to fit any shut-off devices
between the valve and the storage cylinder.
Discharge pipework: It must be fitted in such a way as not to pre-
vent the correct operation of the valve and not to cause damage
or injury.In accordance with current legislation, the safety valve dis-
charge must be visible and carried in suitable collection pipework.
As shown in the diagrams, it is advisable to install a tundish directly
in the discharge pipework for low capacity valves.
Safety: If these safety valves are not installed, commissioned and
maintained correctly according to the instructions contained in
this leaflet, then they may not function correctly and could put the
user in danger. Ensure that all connections are water-tight. When
making hydraulic connections, ensure that the thread of the valve
body is not mechanically overstressed. Over time, breakages could
occur, causing water leaks which could be harmful to property
and/or individuals.
Water temperatures in excess of 50°C can cause serious scalding.
During the installation, commissioning and maintenance of these
safety valves, all necessary steps should be taken to ensure that
such temperatures do not cause
danger to people.

pliance with the directive 97/23/EC(PED) following the procedure
of valutation previewed into modules B+D.
