For the best Wi–Fi coverage, place
your XFINITY Wireless Gateway in
STEP 1
a central location
Connect devices to the
STEP 2
XFINITY Wireless Gateway
Locate your default Wi–Fi network name and password
(case sensitive) on the bottom of the XFINITY Wireless
Gateway. Refer to the Wireless Gateway Quick
Start Guide (in your XFINITY folder) to learn how to
personalize your network.
Push Button Method (Recommended where available)
1. Press the WPS button on the computer or
Wi–Fi device.
2. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the top
panel of your XFINITY Wireless Gateway.
3. You will see a confirmation message when the
computer or Wi–Fi device has successfully
connected to your home network.
Areas to avoid when placing your
XFINITY Wireless Gateway:
• Against a wall
• Tucked away in a corner on the floor
• Close to halogen or florescent lighting
• On or between a metal surface
• Behind furniture
• Near a microwave or other high powered appliances
• Next to cordless phones or other wireless devices
• Close to other Wireless Access Points
• Near windows
