Inserting and Removing SDS Bits
Accessories may be hot
after use. Avoid contact
with skin and use proper protective gloves or
cloth to remove.
To insert a bit (Fig. 4):
1. Rotate the clutch ring (Fig. 1, 9) to the
drill bit symbol (
2. Insert the SDS bit into the round opening
in the hammer attachment.
3. While pushing, rotate the bit slightly in
both directions to align the guides on the
shank with the locking feature of the ham-
mer attachment.
4. Push the bit all the way and try to pull it
back slightly to make sure that it is locked
in the hammer attachment.
To remove a bit (Fig. 5):
1. Push the SDS locking sleeve (6) of the
hammer attachment towards the tool.
2. Pull the bit out.
Changing the Position of the
Auxiliary Handle
Auxiliary handle must be adjusted to achieve
safe work posture and minimize fatigue.
To reposition auxiliary handle (Fig. 6):
1. Turn the gripping portion of the handle in
the counterclockwise direction until the
handle is free to rotate around the hammer
attachment, but remains attached to it.
2. Rotate the handle to the desired position.
Check to verify that the clamping band of
the auxiliary handle is positioned in the
groove on the housing of the hammer at-
tachment.
3. Secure the handle to the hammer attach-
ment by turning the gripping zone in the
clockwise direction to tighten it.
