1. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. This guide contains important safety and operating instructions for your Switchblade and charger (if applicable).
2. Before using a battery charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on the charger.
3. Don't abuse the cord. Never carry a charger by the cord or use the cord to disconnect the charger from a receptacle.
4. Plug AC chargers directly into an electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
5. Do not operate any damaged charger. Replace damaged cords or plugs immediately.
6. Do not put any metal objects on to the charging terminals located in the charger holder.
   Although there is no electrical shock hazard, this action could cause a burn injury.
7. Remove the Strion Switchblade from the charger holder before attempting any routine cleaning or maintenance.
8. See the product markings for the specific battery required for your light. Do not open battery, dispose of in fire, or short circuit – may ignite, explode, leak or get hot causing personal injury.
9. 
   Do not short the battery pack as it may create a fire hazard.
   For transport or storage, place protective cap or tape over recessed battery contacts.
10. Do not charge the Strion Switchblade in potentially hazardous locations.
11. Do not attempt to repair or replace any components in potentially hazardous locations.

USING THE LIGHT

• The pushbutton switch is located on the body of the light under the rotatable light bar.
• Depress the button momentarily to turn the light on. The Cool white LEDs will come on and brighten in a few seconds. Press the button again and the cool white LEDs turn off and the 90 CRI color matching LEDs turn on. Press the button a third time and the 90 CRI LEDs turn off and the UV LED turns on for leak detection. The fourth press will turn the light off.
• NOTE – If you wait more than two seconds between button pushes, the next press of the button will turn the light off.
• NOTE – The LEDs turn on in a low light condition and ramp up to full brightness to help preserve your vision. This soft start will also prolong the life of the battery.
• The light has a 40 minute timer on the UV LED to ensure the light turns off, if the user does not cycle all the way to off and inadvertently leaves the UV LED on. Therefore if using the UV LED for more than 40 minutes, the light will turn off and will need to be turned back on, which will reset the 40 minute timer.
• The blade of the Strion Switchblade can rotate 180º on the body. Soft detents will hold the blade in your desired position, and the light will stand on its tail on a flat surface with the light bar in any position.
• The foot includes two handy hooks and there is also a retractable hook that will swivel 360 degrees, to allow for many different hanging options.
• The foot also includes magnets in the base that will hold the light on any convenient ferrous metal surface to provide task-specific illumination.

CHARGING INFORMATION

Fully charge your flashlight before first use. The flashlight may be stored in the charger continuously when not in use or left plugged into the micro USB port.

To charge the light by the micro USB port. First turn off the light. Plug the USB cord into a power source, then fold back the rubber micro USB cover on the light, plug the micro USB end of the cord into the port. Take note the plug end is keyed for proper alignment. The charge indicator is located just below the rubber cover between the charge cradle contacts. The indicator will glow red for charging. It will blink when the cell is fully charged.

Charge times will vary depending on the current available from the USB port.

Charge time using the USB charge port on the light, using SL #22049, 22058, 22059, 22071, or 22072 charger, recharges in 4 hours.

To charge the flashlight in a Strion Charger. First turn it off and insert it into the charger. The triangular plate on the head fits into a mating recess in the charger. With the plate toward the charger, slip the barrel of the light between the charger arms and pull downward until it locks into place. The red LED on the charger housing must light to ensure that the battery is being charged.

Keep the flashlight and charger contacts clean at all times. Poor contacts can cause charger malfunction. An abrasive pencil eraser works well to clean the contacts.

Recharges light in 4 hours (5V/1A USB input) or 4 hours with 12VDC input.

Before mounting a Streamlight charger in a vehicle, please read the following sections.

CHARGER MOUNTING

The charger should never be mounted against any heat sensitive surface.
Before drilling any holes, make sure there is room to insert and remove the flashlight.
Two (2) self-tapping #8 x 2" screws are included to mount the charger.
The correct size hole for these screws in sheet metal is 1/8."

VEHICULAR CHARGING

A 12VDC power cord (#22051) is equipped with a cigarette plug and is available for mounting a Streamlight charger in a vehicle. The plug can be removed and the wires can be attached directly to a power source for a more permanent installation. (A two amp fuse must be used on the positive lead.)

Before making electrical connections in a vehicle, keep in mind that a shorted auto battery can easily start a fire. Make all connections with insulated lugs or other connectors intended for such use. Be sure that your installation is fused. The striped power lead is positive and the unmarked lead is negative. When connecting the charger to a fuse block the striped, positive power lead goes to the connector that is dead when the vehicle's fuse is removed. The charger body is electrically isolated from the charge circuit and allows positive ground installations. The charger is diode protected and if connected in reverse polarity simply won't operate until connected properly.

Streamlight recommends connecting chargers to an unswitched source of power to ensure the flashlight is always fully charged. If the vehicle will not be driven for several days, the flashlight should be removed from the charger to avoid vehicle battery drain.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

To replace the Streamlight Li Ion cell. Rotate the foot counter clock wise two turns to unscrew and remove the base. Slide the battery out and replace with another Streamlight 74175 cell. Slide the new battery into the barrel with the positive end entering the barrel first. Replace the bottom cover and rotate until the lock engages.

Be sure to use only genuine Streamlight^® replacement parts.

To assure product safety and reliability, repairs other than those listed below should be performed at the Streamlight factory. Always use Streamlight approved replacement parts, substitution may invalidate underwriter's approval.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Streamlight warrants this product to be free of defects for a lifetime of use except for batteries and bulbs, abuse and normal wear. We will repair, replace or refund the purchase price of this product should we determine it to be defective. This limited lifetime warranty also excludes rechargeable batteries, chargers, switches and electronics which have a 2 year warranty with proof of purchase.
