General information about Poweo ® Nursing You have recently purchased a Poweo ® Nursing patient lifter. We would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in our company. The patient lifter is delivered in a cardboard box containing: 1.

Intended use Poweo® Nursing safely and comfortably transfers a dependent person, without effort and reducing the risks of work-related injuries to the caregiver. They are mobile passive patient lifters intended to be used on horizontal floors to transfer up to 180 kg patients.
Using a patient lifter requires a good understanding of transfer systems, assembly and disassembly procedures. SCALEO Medical tests and charges all batteries before the products are packed, however, the batteries must be completely recharged before first use. Poweo® lifters are delivered with the emergency stop button switched on the ON position.

Instructions for use Safety devices Emergency stop The Poweo ® is equipped with an emergency stop button that will power off the lifter when pressed. The emergency stop button is located on the control box. Once pressed it must be turned clockwise to release it. Electric emergency lowering In the event that the remote control does not work, an electric lowering is still possible by operating the buttons located on the control box.
The opening of the legs is also secured: in the case of a contact between a leg and an obstacle, the legs will automatically stop moving. When the leg opening movement stops, it is a warning for the user: it means that the security device is operating and the transfer of the patient is not secured.
After each charge, be careful to unplug the power cord without pulling to avoid damaging the cord. It is recommended to have 2 batteries to replace the discharged battery with the charged one. Therefore, Poweo® will remain functional at all times. Maintenance of the battery Never charge batteries in extreme temperatures.

Use the lifter carefully to minimize swinging, especially if the lifter and patient are close to furniture. Using passive transfer slings Fold the sling as indicated in the following images before using. The grey side should be facing away from the user when putting the sling in place.

Reminder: to avoid any risk of accident, it is strongly recommended to only use the SCALEO Medical slings compatible with the 4-point suspension of the Poweo® patient lifter. It is also important to choose the appropriate slings considering the type of transfer and the environment of the room.

Periodical inspection and preventive maintenance The aim of a periodic control visit is to control the safety and the maintenance issues on the equipment. This control, as well as the preventive maintenance must be performed regularly every year for the patient lifter and twice a year for the slings – according to annex B of the EN ISO 10535 standard and the recommendations from health authorities.

The lifetime of the Poweo® patient lifters is 10 years or 30,000 cycles, provided that the recommended periodic inspections and preventive maintenance are properly made. Warranty ® The Poweo Nursing patient lifters and all their parts have a four (4) years warranty, except for the batteries and the slings that are guaranteed one (1) year. • Any intervention on the machine contrary to the information provided in this manual will entirely void the warranty.
