Removal steps

System board

Prerequisite
Before you start, read Generic Safety and Compliance Notices, and print the following instructions.
The heat sink and microprocessor might be very hot. Before you remove the front cover, turn off the
Chromebox and wait several minutes until the Chromebox is cool.
Note: Do not touch the grease on the microprocessor.
For access, remove the following parts in order:
• Remove the front cover. See "Front cover" on page 41.
• Remove the system fan and heat sink. See "System fan and heat sink" on page 42.
• Remove the ThinkCentre LED cable. See ThinkCentre LED cable.
• Remove the Board-to-Board module. See Board-to-Board module.
• Remove the Wi-Fi card and Wi-Fi cover. See "Wi-Fi card and Wi-Fi cover" on page 50.
Removal steps
1. Record the cable routing and cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the system board.
See System board.
2. Remove the following screws that secure the system board, and then carefully lift the system board out
of the chassis.
Note: Carefully handle the system board by its edges.
