WARNING
The use of a track guide offers precise, straight, accurate cuts, either at 90° or 45°
bevel cuts.
Before making the first cut with the track guide, the rubber anti-splinter edges on the
guide must be adapted to the circular saw used.
The SKIL circular saw CR5440B-00 has a guide slot on the bottom of its foot to be
used with this track guide.
a. Secure the workpiece firmly.

b. If you want to make straight cuts, place the guide onto the workpiece, making
sure the 90° bevel side of the guide aligns with the cutting line you have drawn
on the workpiece. If you are making a 45° bevel cut, align the 45° bevel side of
the guide with your cutting line (Fig. 4).

the track guide, be

Switch on the saw and wait until
the blade reaches its full speed. Guide the saw uniformly with a slow feed rate
through the end of the track guide.
g. Take extra care when placing saw on portion of the track guide that extends
beyond the leading or ending edge of the workpiece.
h. Allow blade to come to a complete stop before removing the saw from the guide.
NOTE: The anti-splinter edges are replaceable. Always replace the worn edges
with the new ones to minimize splintering of the workpiece.
Replacing Anti-splinter Edge
The anti-splinter edges help minimize splintering of the workpiece. To function
properly, they must be replaced when they are worn or damaged. Use commercially
available adhesive anti-splinter edge (also called "splinter guard").
Storage
The hanging holes on the track guides are designed to hang the track guide(s) to
prevent accidental damage.
