INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLAY

Instructions for Play:
To turn on the ROLL & RHYME Melody Block, press the "On/Off" button on the
front of the block and tip the block in any direction. Press the "On/Off" button
again to turn the block off, or it will automatically switch off after a few seconds of
inactivity. There is a switch inside the product (on the battery box) if you want to
completely shut off the product.
Volume Control:
A high/low volume control is located inside of the product on the battery box.
Access volume control through the red side of the block.
3 Ways to Play (rhymes mode, music mode, tactile activities)
Rhymes Mode:
Press the
button.
Tip the block to hear a musical rhyme for the side of the block that is facing up
and sing along!
• Yellow lion! In the African sun! Tickling your mane is really fun!
• Blue fish! With scales that shine! If I pet you, will you be mine?
• Green leaves! Open and see! Who's that hiding in the tree?
• Shiny moon! In a purple sky! I see myself as you go by!
• White polar bear! In the icy snow! Slipping and sliding, away you go!
• Red fox! Running about! Are you in, or are you out?
Music Mode:
Press the
button.
Tip the block to hear a world rhythm for the side of the block that is facing up.
Each side represents a different musical style from around the world:

Mode Buttons –
Rhymes and Music
• The yellow side plays an African-style melody
• The blue side plays a Tropical-style melody
• The green side plays a Caribbean-style melody
• The purple side plays an Asian-style melody
• The white side plays a Classical melody
• The red side plays a Latin-style melody
Tactile Activities:
Tactile, six-sided activity block encourages exploration!
• The yellow side features a lion with a mane that crinkles!
• The blue side features a fish with shiny scales!
• The green side features soft leaves that open to reveal a parrot!
• The purple side features a mirror moon that reflects baby's face!
• The white side features a polar bear that slides back and forth!
• The red side features a fox that can be pulled out and put back
into his hole!
Care and Maintenance:
• Keep product away from foods and beverages.
• Clean with a slightly damp cloth.
• Never submerge the product in water.
• Remove batteries from the block for prolonged storage.
• Avoid exposing the block to extreme temperatures.
Battery Information:
Batteries included are for in-store demonstration, and should be replaced to
improve performance.
Battery Safety:
Batteries are small objects. Replacement of batteries must be done by adults.
Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment. Promptly remove
dead batteries from the toy. Dispose of used batteries properly. Only batteries of
the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
DO NOT incinerate used batteries.
DO NOT dispose of batteries in fire, as batteries may explode or leak.
DO NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (i.e. alkaline/standard).
DO NOT use rechargeable batteries.
DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
DO NOT short-circuit the supply terminals.
Battery Installation:
1. Requires 3 AA (called LR6 in some countries) alkaline batteries.
2. When the batteries run low on power the toy's speech may become
garbled or it may repeat itself. Replace batteries at the time.
3. Locate the battery door by opening the flap on the red side of the block.
Battery box pulls out of the block for ease of changing batteries.
4. Open the battery door with a screwdriver.
5. Install new batteries as shown in the polarity diagram (+/-) inside the battery
compartment.
6. Replace battery door securely and stuff battery box back inside block.
