A power transformer is provided with each electrical gate.

ALVARADO TURNSTILES Installation & Maintenance Guide VSG/VSGX Gate Installation considerations: In order to ensure the gate will operate as intended, it is very important that the gate posts are correctly installed and oriented. If the posts are not installed at the correct distance, set plumb and square, the gate may not open or close properly and could have an interference fit with the magnetic lock.
Use only skilled individuals to install and service the gate. Do not modify or alter the gate. Do not use non-Alvarado parts. The gate is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose the gate to outside weather WARNING conditions.

This produces interference in signal activation (VSGX Models ONLY). NOTE 4.
