Water Softener MS Series (MS - 100U / 150U / 250U / 325U)
Check your local building and sanitation codes for installation compliance. Since Miura MS
series water softener is designed for steam boilers make-up usage, it cannot be allowed
drinking and residential usage.
Electrical, Building code, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and Regulations..
1. Installation Location
1)
Select a location near the drain.
2)
When installing, allow enough clearance for maintanence and
operational space.
2. Filling of Resin Tank
Water softeners require on-site resin filling of the tank. Place the resin tank at its installation location and follow the
necessary steps below.
1)
Check that the inside of the resin tank is empty and clean.
2)
Insert the center pipe in the resin tank. To prevent resin and gravel from entering the center pipe, plug the pipe
at the top (Figure 1)..
3)
Be certain the top of center pipe is within 0 – 3/8 inch (0 - 10 mm) below
the top of the resin tank still remains (Figure 2).
[Note] Redo if the center pipe is positioned higher than the opening.
When the control valve is applied, the gravel and resin may
enter the water weed pipe if the center pipe exceeds
requirement.
4)
Use a funnel to pour gravel into the tank (Figure 3)
[Note] Do not move the center pipe after gravel is poured into the tank.
5)
Pour resin into the funnel to fill the tank with the resin. If the resin does not flow smoothly, use small amount of
water slowly along with the resin to be certain all resin is poured into tank (Figure 3). Gravel and resin are
pre-measured at the factory.
6)
Clean the opening for any debris around the thread and sealing surface. Then remove the plug from the
center pipe.

sufficient level surface so the tank does
not tip over.

- Page 2 3. Attaching the Control Valve Apply silicone oil to resin tank thread, O-ring sealing surface, and 1 3/16 inch (3 cm) top section of the center pipe (Figure 4). Attach the tank adaptor to the resin tank. Slowly twist the adaptor until it is firmly attached (Figure 5). [Note] Do not use seal tape for the threads.
- Page 3 Attach the brine line tube to the control valve using push fit joint (Figure 8). Brine valve Attach the other end of brine line tube to the valve inside of brine tank (Figure 9). [Note] After connecting the tube tug lightly on both ends to check if the tube Brine line tube does not come off.
