26. Loosely mount the long switch bracket to the right
side of the traction unit frame with (2) 1/4 x 7/8
inch capscrews and locknuts (Figure 6).
27. Move the switch into the lever on brake pivot rod
until the switch actuates, then tighten the bracket
mounting nuts. Do not over-tighten.
28. Repeat the procedure on left side of the machine
using the short switch bracket and the switch
(Figure 7).

29. Route the harness connectors forward to the
switches. Plug the connectors onto the switches.
Important: Secure the harness wires to the
machine components with wire ties. Make sure
the wires do not contact any hot or moving parts.
Important: Make sure the switches actuate
with slight motion of either the right or left

Operation
Operating the Speed Control
1. Sit on seat, operate the machine in the normal
manner.
2. Position the traction pedal so the machine is
operating at the desired ground speed.
3. Hold the pedal in position, depress the cruise
control switch. The switch will illuminate when in
the "ON" position.
4. With the cruise control engaged, the traction pedal
must be able to override the system with moderate
foot force. If too much force is required to override
system, proceed with the following:
• Loosen the jam nut securing the set screw in the
clutch plate.
• Thread the set screw into the clutch plate until
the proper overriding force is achieved.
• Tighten the jam nut. Check the operation.
5. The machine will now operate with the traction
pedal in the set position or the operator can change
the pedal position by applying an overriding force.
To disengage the control:
• Actuate the brake pedal; this breaks the electrical
circuit and allows the normal traction pedal
operation.
or
• Depress the cruise control switch.
