8.4 Adapter setting

Set the operating mode selector
3083 digital slave adapter to Position "Metz
REMOTE".

8.5 Camera setting

The camera's shutter speed must not be faster
than 1/60th sec. to ensure correct operation in
the Metz remote mode. If necessary preselect
the right shutter speed manually on the camera.
Set a shutter speed of 1/60th sec. or slower in the
camera's manual mode (M) or shutter priority
mode (T or Tv).
Once it has been established that the shutter speed
is not faster than 1/60th sec. when the camera is in
the auto program mode (P) or aperture priority
mode (A or Av), then the Metz remote mode can be
used in these camera modes.
Select an aperture on the camera that matches the
distance to the subject and the maximum flash
range.
8.6 Slave mode with mecablitz 44 MZ-2, 54
MZ-3/4, 70 MZ-4

8.6.1 Flash unit setting

After the slave adapter has been mounted and the
mecablitz has been switched on, the flash unit will
automatically switch to TTL and slave mode. The
zoom reflector is positioned at 24 mm or 28 mm
(44 MZ-2). The mecablitz LC-display indicates "SL"
(slave) and "Ad1" or "Ad2" for the selected remote
channel.
