Extending the Warranty

The transmissions are covered by a standard
3 year/3000 hour (prorated after the first 1,000
hours of use) warranty to the original owner. Walk-
er will extend the transmission warranty to 3 years,
full replacement coverage, unlimited hours if
the transmissions are serviced by an authorized
Walker Dealer at the recommended intervals using
only Walker approved oil and filters. Proof of
meeting these service requirements must be sub-
mitted prior to approval for any extended warranty
claims.

Checking Hydrostatic Transmission Oil Level

The hydrostatic transmission oil level should be
checked after every 25 hours of machine opera-
tion. Always perform this check when the machine
is cold.
1.
Park the mower on a level surface.
2.
The level of the oil can be seen through the
sight gauge window on the rear of the reser-
voir. The oil fill line should be around the
mid-way point of the sight gauge window.
3.
If the oil is below the mid-way point, add oil.
The only Walker approved oil for the transmis-
sions is Mobil SHC
6450-20). Thoroughly clean around the res-
ervoir fill cap before removing the cap. Add oil

NOTE: If oil tends to run a bit low and is being
added regularly, it is likely there is a leak. Contact
your authorized Walker Dealer for inspection and
repair.
Changing Hydrostatic Transmission Oil and
Filter
The oil and filter must be changed after the first
100 hours, at 500 hours, and every 500 hours
thereafter. The transmissions ship from the factory
with Mobil SHC
630 oil. Mobil SHC
TM
only factory approved oil for servicing the transmis-
sions in this tractor.
NOTE: The transmissions should be warm before
draining.
1.
Remove the mower deck from the tractor.
IMPORTANT: Thoroughly clean around each
cap, connector, and plug on the reservoir and
the transmissions. Do not allow contaminants
to enter the system during this process which
could lead to damage and premature failure.
2.
Drain the oil from the reservoir through the
bottom plug on the rear of the reservoir.
3.
Drain the oil from each transmission through
the elbow connector on the bottom of the
transmission by disconnecting the line that
runs from the oil pump to the transmission
using a 17mm wrench. See Drain Transmis-
sion Oil illustration for details.
