Park unit on a flat level surface and engage parking
brake.
Stop engine, remove key and wait for moving parts
to stop and for hot parts to cool.
Disconnect spark plug wires.
Remove hardware retaining discharge chute
assembly and remove chute assembly. Retain parts
for operation without mulch kit. See Figure 2.

- Page 3 See Figure 7. Secure discharge baffle (item 3) to deck with two 5/16" nyloc flange nuts. See Figure 9. IMPORTANT: Some 52" decks require drilling a hole through the deck above the top hole in right baffle. If applicable, continue to step 2. If not, advance to step 5. Ensure right baffle mounting hardware is tight.
- Page 4 MULCHING TIPS Mow at full throttle and half speed. Mow dry grass only. Keep mower blades sharp. Cut no more than 2.5 cm (1") at one time. For tall grass, mow at a higher cutting height, then make a second or third pass with the deck set to the desired cutting height.
