6. Make sure that the bottom of the grass catcher
touch the loop end of the spring latch. This is
necessary to hold the grass catcher in position. If
it is necessary to adjust the spring latch, loosen
the nut and move the spring latch until it is in the
correct position. Tighten the nut again.
To install and adjust the full lever/
extension for the grass catcher
1. Stop the engine and engage the parking brake.
2. Remove the center discharge chute. Refer to
remove and install the center chute on page 28 .
3. Remove the bolt (A).

4. Put the lever (B) into the slot and install the bolt.
5. If it is necessary to adjust the full lever, do the
steps that follow.
a) If the grass is heavy or wet, remove the bolt
and put the full lever in the fully retracted
position. Install the bolt again.
b) If the grass is light or dry, remove the bolt
and put the full lever in the fully extended
position. Install the bolt again.
To adjust the seat
1. Sit in the seat.
2. Lift up the seat adjustment lever (A).
3. Move the seat until it is in a position where you
can push the brake and clutch pedals down.

4. Release the seat adjustment lever (A) to lock the
seat in position.
To connect the battery
WARNING:
Make sure that ignition switch is in the
OFF position and that the ignition key is
removed.
The cable connections are on the plate on the right
side of the product, above the rear wheel.
1. Make sure that the red cable (A) is tightly
installed to the starter solenoid.

2. Make sure that the protective sleeve (B) does not
touch the terminal end (C) on the black cable (D).
3. Use a ½ in (13 mm) wrench or socket to remove
the ground screw (E) and the black cable (F).

4. Retract the protective sleeve (G) from the
terminal end (H).
5. Install the terminal end on the plate with the
ground screw.
6. Tighten the ground screw.
7. Visually examine the black cable to make sure
that no part of the protective sleeve touches the
head of the ground screw.
