INTRODUCTION

This user guide is designed to help you use and operate the device. Please read through this user guide carefully and then keep it safe with the device, so that you can consult it should you experience any problems.


Please ensure that you familiarize yourself with the Bluetooth® settings on the devices that you wish to connect, so that you can eliminate any potential errors during connection.

INTENDED USE

This product acts as a Bluetooth® audio receiver or transmitter and can be universally used to establish a connection between mobile and fixed-location devices.

Option 1: Use as a receiver Option 2: Use as a transmitter
Use a 3.5 mm audio jack or optical fibre cable to connect the device to a playback device such as a stereo or sound bar. You can then establish a connection with a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth ® and use it as a player device. Use a 3.5 mm audio jack or optical fibre cable to connect the device to a player device such as a television. You can then establish a Bluetooth ® connection with headphones or loudspeakers.

General safety and maintenance instructions

  • This product is intended for private, non-commercial household use.
  • This product is an electronic item and not a plaything for children. Keep it out of children's reach.
  • Protect the product from moisture, water, rain, snow or drizzle. Use the product in dry environments only.
  • Do not drop the product. Ensure that it is not exposed to strong vibrations or shaking.
  • Do not insert any objects into the product's connections or openings.
  • Do not disassemble the product into its individual parts. The device does not contain any parts that require maintenance by the user. Incorrect assembly can cause electric shocks or malfunctions.
  • Clean this product using a lint-free, ever so slightly damp cloth only. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents. Take extra special care to ensure that no water, liquids or damp gets into the product.


Important safety instructions on the integrated battery
Rechargeable lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries are a safe, reliable power source for portable devices if they are used properly. However, incorrect or improper use can lead to leakages, burns, fire or explosion/ disassembly and cause injury to people or damage to the device.

  • The battery is permanently integrated into the casing. It cannot be replaced.
  • Never throw the product into a fire. There is a risk that the battery will catch fire and explode.
  • Recharge the device battery on a regular basis, even if you do not use it for a longer period of time (about every 3 months). Otherwise, the battery may fully discharge, making it permanently unusable.
  • The type of rechargeable battery technology used means that there is no need to discharge the battery before recharging.
  • Place the product on a surface which is not sensitive to heat when recharging. It is normal for the product to become slightly warm when recharging.
  • Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with the skin. Use suitable protective gloves to handle such batteries.
  • Liquids leaking from batteries consist of very aggressive chemicals. Objects or surfaces which come into contact with such liquids can sometimes be severely damaged.

INITIAL OPERATION

Charging the battery

It is recommended to fully charge the integrated battery before using the product for the first time. However, the product can be used without any limitations while being charged. The charging time is about 2 hours.

  1. Use the supplied Micro-USB cable and plug the Micro-USB connector into the relevant socket at the rear of the product.
  2. Now connect the charging cable USB connector or an active USB socket in a device such as a laptop or computer.
  3. The status LED on the front of the device will light up red while it is recharging. The LED will switch off automatically once the battery is fully recharged.

Automatic switch-off

The product has an automatic switch-off. This prevents the battery from discharging or discharging completely.
The automatic switch-off activates in the following situations:

  • After 5 minutes with no connection established
  • As soon as the battery reaches a low or critical level.

Status LED

LED code Meaning
LED remains permanently red The product is recharging.
LED is no longer lit Recharging is complete or the device is switched off.
The product is connected in the associated mode (TX/RX).
LED flashes red/blue Battery level is low.
LED flashes red Connection successful.
LED lights up blue The product is switched on, but has not established a Bluetooth ® connection with a device.

Basic functions

Functions Operation
Switching on and off Press the On key and hold for 3 seconds. (LED flashes slowly)
Pairing mode (establishing connection) Press the On key twice after turning the device on. (LED flashes rapidly)
Change of mode Use the side slide switch to select the mode you require.
Play / Pause Press the On key once to switch between play and pause when there is a connection.

information Important note
You can only change modes if the adapter is switched off for at least 3 seconds.

Existing information on connection with other devices is deleted after the mode is changed.

TX MODE – BLUETOOTH® USED AS A TRANSMITTER

Proceed as follows:

  1. The Bluetooth ® adapter must be switched off.
  2. Slide the side switch to „TX" for transmitter.
  3. Connect the player device you wish to use, such as a stereo or TV, with the adapter. (via 3.5 mm audio jack cable or TOSLINK cable [optical fibre cable])
  4. Now activate pairing mode on the Bluetooth ® device you wish to connect. Ensure that the distance from the adapter is not more than 1 m.
  5. Switch the adapter on by pressing the On button and holding for 3 seconds and also press the On key twice in succession.
  6. The adapter will automatically establish a connection with the device addressed.

Connecting a second device
It is possible to connect two devices to the adapter at the same time. Proceed as follows to connect a second device to the adapter:

  1. Switch the previously connected device off.
  2. Now activate pairing mode on the second Bluetooth ® device you wish to connect. Ensure that the distance from the adapter is not more than 1 m.
  3. Now press the On key on the Bluetooth ® adapter twice. The adapter then switches to pairing mode again.
  4. The adapter will automatically establish a connection with the second device.

RX MODE – BLUETOOTH® USED AS A RECEIVER

For this, proceed as follows:

  1. The Bluetooth ® adapter must be switched off.
  2. Slide the side switch to „RX" for receiver.
  3. Now connect the required player device, such as a loudspeaker or sound system, to the adapter. (via 3.5 mm audio jack cable or TOSLINK cable [optical fibre cable])
  4. Switch the adapter on by pressing the On button and holding for 3 seconds and also press the On key twice in succession.
  5. The adapter is now in „pairing mode" and can be found using Bluetooth ® (device name on screen: DAR100).
  6. Now look for the device using your smartphone or tablet and establish a connection between the two devices.
  7. The LED will light up blue as soon as a connection is established.

information Note
If your smartphone or tablet prompts you to enter a password, enter „0000" or „1234".

Connecting a second device
It is possible to connect two devices to the adapter at the same time. Proceed as follows to connect a second device to the adapter:

  1. Deactivate the Bluetooth ® function in the previously connected device.
  2. Now press the On key on the Bluetooth ® adapter twice. The adapter then switches to pairing mode again.
  3. You can now search for the Bluetooth ® adapter with the device name DAR100 on the second device and establish a connection between the two devices.

information Notice

  • You can only ever play music from one device. You must always stop reproduction on one device to start playing music on another.
  • The adapter will seek to re-establish the connection with existing paired devices when switched on in RX mode.
