HELPFUL HINTS
To help you make the most of the freezing process. Here are some important tips:
• The maximum amount of food that can be frozen in 24 hours is shown on the plate;
• The freezing process lasts 24 hours. No more food to be frozen should be added during this
period;
• Only freeze fresh and thoroughly clean food;
• Prepare food in small portions so that it can be quickly and completely frozen and to make it
possible later to thaw only the required amount
• Wrap food in aluminum foil or aluminum polyethylene foil and make sure the packages are
airtight;
• Do not allow fresh and unfrozen food to touch food that is already frozen, thus avoiding an
increase in the temperature of the latter
• Lean foods store better and longer than fats; salt reduces the shelf life of food storage;
• Ice water, if consumed immediately after removal from the freezer compartment, can possibly
cause severe burns; it is advisable to display the date of freezing in the freezer compartment.
• It is advisable to display the freezing date on each individual package to allow removal from the
freezer compartment in a timely manner.
