    Using Your Radio Operation Intro Operation Customer Warranty Auto Squelch/Maximum Range Assistance Your microTALK ® radio is equipped with Auto Squelch, which automatically shuts off weak transmissions and unwanted noise due to terrain and conditions. This slightly reduces the Maximum Range at which signals can be heard.

CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System) provides 38 privacy codes and DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) provides 104 privacy codes.

A user must be licensed prior to operating on Channels 1 through 7 on high power or 15 through 22, which comprise the GMRS channels of this radio.
