You may choose to darn either with
or without an embroidery hoop.
When greater control is needed, free-
motion stitching with an embroidery
hoop is usually best. For directions
on darning with an embroidery hoop,
see page 33.
1Set Pressure Regulating Dial on D
and rotate Feed Regulating Knob
from R to D setting and set Stitch
Length Regulator in FINE area.
2If area to be darned is open, baste
an underlay in place.
3Place area to be darned under
presser foot.
4Lower
presser
foot
stitching, alternately drawing the
fabric gently toward you and
pulling it gently away from you.
5Continue
this
backward motion as you fill the
area with parallel lines of stitching.
6For additional strength, turn the
fabric
and
cover
crosswise lines of stitching.
