Getting Started

The CP-3
PLUS
is an audio proc-
essor designed to enhance
the listening experience of
any source material you
choose — any type of music,
a vintage film or the latest
surround sound encoded
movie or TV program.
The Standard Remote
1. The Effects
These buttons should have
been customized by your in-
stalller to load the following
effects:
NIGHTCLUB — for intimate
listening of any type of music.
CONCERT HALL — for large-
scale, orchestral music..
MUSIC SURROUND — for
any type of music – and an
interesting way to listen to ste-
reo films which are not sur-
round encoded.
TELEVISION — provides sur-
round effects for television
viewing. If you think the pro-
gram material may be sur-
round encoded, try pressing
MOVIES.
MOVIES — designed for any
movies, music, or television
programs which are surround
sound encoded.
2. Balance
These buttons move the
sound between your front and
surround speakers.

after all installation, calibration, and customization of your system is
Your system should already be set up and ready to use. Simply
turn your system on and decide what source you want to play
(TV, VCR, etc.) Once you have selected your source material,

turn on the CP-3
with the Standard remote (4).
PLUS
Note: The CP-3
has two remote controls: the Expanded remote and the
Standard remote. The system will respond to whichever remote was last
used to turn it on.
3. Input
Each of these buttons selects an
Input source (TV, CD, VCR,
etc.) These sources will have
been assigned and named dur-
ing installation — and may also
have been programmed to auto-
matically engage specific ef-
fects.

4. On/Off
PLUS
Puts
the
CP-3
into
standby. (The master power
switch is on the rear panel of
PLUS
the CP-3
.)
5. Volume
These buttons adjust the over-
all volume of your system –
Hold either button down to
change volume rapidly.
6. Mutes
MAIN MUTE turns off all out-
puts. Pressing again will re-
store normal operation. (It is
possible to change VOLUME
while the system is muted –
check this before you turn the
mute off again.)
EFX MUTE allows you to listen
to the source material without
the effects added by the
CP-3
PLUS
. This is also the sim-
plest way to play "normal" two-
speaker stereo. Pressing
again will restore normal op-
eration.

Selecting an Input

The display should show
brief Copyright and customi-
zation messages, then the
current effect. A typical ex-
ample might look like this:

* or other name assigned by your installer
During installation, each of
the four Input buttons (3) on
the Standard remote will
have been assigned to load
one of your audio/video
sources. (See the reverse
side of this card for these
assignments.)
Alternatively, holding any of
the Input buttons displays
the name of the source as-
signed to that Input. Press
Input 1 and hold the button
down. The display should
now show:

COMPACT DISC*
* or other name such as VCR, TV, etc. as-
signed by your installer
When you release the button,
the display will show the cur-
rent effect.
With an input selected, you
can press any of the effect
buttons (1) to listen to a differ-
ent effect.
Adjust VOLUME (5) and BAL-
ANCE (2) to maximize the ef-
fect at your listening position.
