M aking the sound purer
When SOURCE DIRECT is on, the signal path inside the sys-
tem is simplified so that the sound can be reproduced w ith
an improved purity.
÷ Other functions than the balance control cannot be used because
the audio signals bypass the circuits.
÷ Press the key again to sw itch SOURCE DIRECT off.
Bass compensation
The N.B. CIRCUIT allow s to enjoy low frequencies in a natu-
ral tone.
N.B. CIRCUIT
Each press of the key sw itches the setting.
1 NB 1 ........ The low frequencies are compensated
according to the current volume level.
(Effective for low -level listening)
2 NB 2 ........ The low frequencies are compensated
regardless of the volume level.
3 NB OFF (N.B. deactivated)
When CD has been selected.

Enhancing the low and high frequencies
The Extra Bass has been set to on w hen the system left the
factory.
÷ Each press sw itches EX.BASS on and off alternately.
M uting the sound temporarily

÷ Press again to resume the original volume.

1 Insert the headphone plug into the PHONES jack.
÷ The sounds from all speakers are cut off.
2 Adjust the volume.
÷ Be sure to decrease the volume before plugging or unplugging the
headphones.
AUTO POW ER SAVE function
When the pow er is ON and neither recording nor playback is
executed for 30 minutes or more, the pow er is sw itched off au-
tomatically by this function. This function can be made active
or not active by the follow ing operation.
Press w hen the

Each press sw itches the modes as follow s.
