TAPE SPEED AND STANDARD SELECTOR
This is a
four position
rotary
switch permitting
the
selection of
the
speed and standard of
the IV- S
in
both
record
and
playback
.
Possible
settings
are:

For best quality recordings the

The

NAB

CCIR positi on is
chosen
when the recorded tape is to be played back
on
any machine
other
than
a
NAGRA
T·AUDIO
or
NAGRA IV-
S.
However,
when
this is not
the case it
is recommended to
use
the
NAGRAMASTER position
which
has a different
equalization and gives
a bettor
signal-to-noise
ratio.
For norm al
recordings.
the 7
t
ips speed
is
supplied.
The
3i-
ips speed is available for those
cases
where the length
of
recording
time of
the tape is more c
ritical
than the actual quality of
the
recording.
21. BIAS
SELECTOR
This switch
makes
it possible for
the
operator
to modify the bias voltage
using a small screwdrive r
when
recording
on special
tapes tor which the machine has not been
calibrated. Each position of
this
switch corresponds
to a
bias variation of
S%.

PLAYBACK
EaUAlIZATION
SELECTOR
This
switch (also
adjustable
with a small screwdriver) offers
the
possibility
to reproduc e tapes
recorded using the
CCIR standard equalization on
a machine
that
has
been calibrated
to the
NAB
standard equalization,
and
vice versa.

a recorded

the
internal loud
speaker.
