Be sure to read all Safety Guidelines.
•
Before using the iron for the first time, you should always test it on an old towel or
other heavy fabric, to make sure the iron is working properly and there is no dust from
manufacturing in the iron.
•
Fill the Removable Water Tank.
•
Plug the iron into a grounded electrical outlet.
•
To heat up, press the Temperature Control Button four times to MAX. The MAX light will

flash for about 60 seconds. When the light stops flashing, the iron is ready.
•
It is normal for a small amount of smoke and a light odor to be produced the first time the
iron is used; this won't last long.
•
Particles may emit from the iron the first time it is used. They are not harmful and should
dissipate.
•
Move the Steam Control & Self-Clean Dial to maximum. This is the continuous steam
setting.
•
Iron for the first time on an old towel or a heavy material until the Removable Water Tank is
empty and no more steam is produced. This will help eliminate any particles in the iron.
