Warning! The vibration emission value during actual use of

measures required by 2002/44/EC to protect persons regularly
using power tools in employment, an estimation of vibration

way the tool is used, including taking account of all parts of the
operating cycle such as the times when the tool is switched off
and when it is running idle in addition to the trigger time.

Electrical safety

This tool is double insulated; therefore no earth
wire is required. Always check that the power
supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating
plate.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the

manufacturer or an authorised BLACK+DECKER Centre
in order to avoid a hazard.
Using an extension cable
Always use an approved extension cable suitable for the
u
power input of this tool (see technical data). Before use,
inspect the extension cable for signs of damage, wear and
ageing. Replace the extension cable if damaged or defec-
tive. When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely. Use of an extension cable not suitable for the
power input of the tool or which is damaged or defective
may result in a risk of fire and electric shock.

Assembly
Warning! Before assembly, make sure that the tool is
switched off and unplugged.
Attaching hook and loop sanding discs (fig.A)
Warning! lock the sander off during sanding disc installation.
Refer to "Lock Off" section. Your sander is designed to use
127mm sanding discs with the 8 hole dust extraction pattern.
For best results, use BLACK+DECKER accessories.
Your sander is designed for use with either mesh carbide
u
sandpaper or with standard sand paper with the 8 hole
dust extraction pattern
To attach the sanding disc (6), carefully center it over the
u
sanding pad (3) ensuring the holes in the disc align with
the holes in the pad and press the disc firmly in place.
The hook and loop fastening system sanding disc can be
u
easily removed by simply pulling it off. It can be reused as
desired.
Use
Warning! Let the tool work at its own pace. Do not overload.
On/off
Hold the sander as shown in Figure C and squeeze so
u
the paddle (1) depresses without putting pressure on the
workpiece.
To turn the tool off, release the paddle.

Operation

Grasp the sander as shown in figure B and turn it ON
in long, sweeping strokes along the surface, letting it do
.

Pushing down on the tool while sanding actually slows the
removal rate and produces an inferior quality finish.
Check your work often. Sander is capable of removing
material rapidly especially with coarse paper.
Lock on/lock off slider
This sander is equipped with a switch that allows you to lock
it on for extended use, and lock off to prevent accidental
actuation.
Lock on (Fig.C)
To lock the tool on, depress the paddle (1) with one hand

and push the slider (2) right to the locked position with
your other hand as shown in Figure C.
To stop the tool, push the slider left to the unlocked posi-
u
tion and release paddle.
