4 Assembly and Operation
4.1 Assembly Instructions
• Make certain the fi tting is suitable for the relevant
application. The fi tting must be suitable for the opera-
ting conditions of the pipeline system (medium, con-
centration, temperature and pressure) as well as the
relevant ambient conditions.
• Check the fi tting for transport damage before installing
it. If the fi tting is damaged do not install it.
• The planner, the construction company or operating
company are responsible for the positioning and instal-
lation of the fi tting. Planning and installation errors can
adversely affect the reliable functionality of the fi tting
and may represent a signifi cant potential for hazard.

• After the fi tting is installed perform a tightness and
function check.
Measuring Range
4.2 Tools Required
The tools required for installation and assembly are not
4 – 40 l/h air
included with delivery.
4.3 Connect Flow Meter
10 – 100 l/h air
• The fl ow meter must be connected to the pipeline so it
is free of mechanical stress.
40 – 400 l/h air
• The fl ow meter has a female thread (ISO, DIN,
ANSI) and can be connected with various connecting
elements of the emtechnik system.
150 – 1600 l/h air
• Observe the fl ow direction from the bottom to the top.
2,5 – 25 l/h water
Sealing is provided by a sealing collar for
Cylindrical threads (G, M or UNF).
4 – 40 l/h water
A version with an O-ring is also possible.

250 – 2500 l/h air
600 – 6000 l/h air
• Each thread must always be connected with the same

5 Commissioning
5.1 Precondition for Commissioning
• Protect against leaks: Take protective measures
against exceeding the maximum permitted pressure
due to possible pressure surges.
• Check the tightness and function of the fi tting.
• In new systems and after repairs, fl ush the line system
to remove foreign materials.
5.2 Operation
The series 4L fl ow meter has an integrated fi ne regula-
ting valve. Turn the handwheel clockwise to reduce the
fl ow. Turn the handwheel counter-clockwise to increase
the fl ow.
