sent from M A S T E R to S L A V E contains grammatical or
range errors, the S L A V E unit will send an affirmative
response to the M A S T E R as long a s the relationship be-
t w e e n the block check character and the other charac-
ters is correct. L i k e w i s e , even if all the characters in the
information message are accurate, the S L A V E unit will
send a negative response to the M A S T E R unit if the rela-
tionship between the block check character and the other
characters is not correct.
Only in the broadcast mode, however, a S L A V E unit will
not send a positive or affirmative response to the
M A S T E R after receiving an information message.
When an information message has been sent from
M A S T E R to S L A V E , there is no affirmative or negative
response sent from the S L A V E to the M A S T E R . W h e n
sending a second information message from M A S T E R to
S L A V E , wait until at least 5 0 0 m s after transmission of
the first message has been completed. If not, signal col-
lision may occur along the P W R transmission p a t h w a y .
3) After a S L A V E unit has received an information message
from the M A S T E R unit and transmitted an affirmative
response to the M A S T E R unit, the S A L V E unit executes the
instructions contained in the information message.
In the case where the S L A V E unit transmits a negative
response to the M A S T E R unit, the S L A V E unit does not
do anything, but continues to operate in the same state
as before the information message w a s received.
However, even if the S L A V E unit has transmitted an af-
firmative response, if there are grammatical or range er-
rors within the information message, the S A L V E unit will
ignore the message and will continue to operate in the
same state a s before the message w a s received.
W h e n sending a multicommand (multiple command) via
information message, if one of the command characters
in the multicommand contains a grammatical error, the
S L A V E unit will ignore that one command character.
However, the S L A V E unit will execute the instructions
contained in the other command characters.
4) W h e n the M A S T E R unit sends a S L A V E unit an information
message requesting the T A L K (status output) function, and
the S L A V E unit a n s w e r s with an affirmative response, the
S L A V E unit then sends the M A S T E R unit an information
message consisting of: a transmission control character to
indicate the start of the message, an address character, a
message character, a transmission control character to in-
dicate the end of the message and, finally, a block c h e c k
character.
