Introduction
With the DExt from the DIGIMIC family it is
possible to extend the DIGIMIC system.
The number of units controlled by the DCen32 is
limited by the power consumption of the devices.
The DExt, which supplies longer device chains
with additional power, provides a remedy. Almost
infinitely long chains are possible. In addition, the
distance between the control centre and the first
unit can be significantly extended - up to 100m per
DExt.
Depending on the type, the number of
units per chain varies: DIGIMIC CS up to
40 units, CMic and CMic ID up to 25,
DDol up to 14 (examples).
The DExt is connected to other devices of the DIGIMIC family via CAT5e cables or better.
It is not allowed to be mixed different device types of the DIGIMIC family in one chain.
