Chapter 3 Setting the BIOS
3.1 Introduction
System parameters can be modifi ed by going into BIOS Setup menu; this
menu allows you to confi gure the system parameter and save the confi guration
into the SPI ROM.
The AMI BIOS that is install in the SPI ROM of the motherboard is a custom
version of an industry standard BIOS. The BIOS provides critical low-level sup-
port for standard devices such as hard disk drives USB ports .
AOpen's R&D engineering team has prtimized most BIOS settings of this moth-
erboard. However, Some default Setting of the BIOS cannot fi ne-tune items
that are controlled by chipset. Therefore, this chapter is intended
to guide you and help you to confi gure some other settings.
To enter the BIOS setup menu, press<DEL> when post (Power On Self Test)
screen is shown on your monitor.
3.2 How to Enter the BIOS setup
After fi nishing the connecting csables , You can power on and enter BIOS
Setup. Press <DEL> during POST(Power-On Self Test) and choose
"Restore Default" for recommended optimal performance.
