Please confirm: 1) The plastic hose does fit the drain hose fitting perfectly BUT 2) the plastic hose also fits the pump outlet but needs SOMETHING to hold it in place. OR my unit came with the wrong size clear plastic hose. 3) the manual page 19 discusses inserting the drain hose 'onto the drainage joint' 4) the drain hose should have been included BUT 5) in my case I have a hose that can be pushed onto the drainage joint but with less than 1/4 inch 'hold' and nothing is included to hold it secure. 6) The online manual discusses threading a hose from inside the tank compartment, but it would have to be a much smaller hose. The clear plastic hose that came with my unit is only 3 feet long, has an inside diameter of about 1/2 inch. IF I do need to thread a hose from inside the unit please advise of its exact size. It seems to be about 1.4 inch outside diameter. Does Home Depot have such a hose? I need about an 8 foot length. Please advise ASAP - I cannot use the unit at this time.

The Vissani VDH50P uses a garden hose connector with a 3/4 in. diameter straight (non-tapered) thread and a pitch of 11.5 threads per inch. The male connector has an outer diameter of 1-1/16 in. (26.99 mm).

The document does not state whether Home Depot carries a suitable 8-foot hose.

Do you plug the garden hose directly into the back of the VAD50PS1AWT dehumidifier, or do you connect the garden hose to the clear plastic hose that is supplied, using an adapter? (I have not purchased the dehumidifier yet.)

To connect a garden hose to the Vissani VAD50PS1AWT dehumidifier:

1. Securely attach the garden hose to the hose connector on the dehumidifier. Ensure there is no water leak.
2. Place the other end of the hose into a floor drain.
3. Make sure the entire hose lies flat and is lower than the hose connector on the dehumidifier.
4. The hose outlet should be at least 5.5 inches lower than the hose connector.
5. Ensure the hose is not kinked or pinched.
6. Use a hose with an inner diameter greater than 1/2 inch.
7. Only North American garden hoses are compatible.

Note: For models with a pump, you may cover the connector after removing the hose.

How long can the garden hose be? Another question: Is it true the hose should be 5/16" Diameter with a female threaded end that is 1"?

The Vissani VDH50P uses a garden hose with a 3/4 in. diameter straight (non-tapered) thread and a pitch of 11.5 threads per inch. The male part has an outer diameter of 1-1/16 in. (26.99 mm). The maximum length of the pump drain hose is 16 ft. (487.68 cm). There is no mention of a 5/16" diameter or a 1" female threaded end being required.
