CONTROLS AND FEATURES
See Figure 16 for all Controls and Features locations.
Throttle Lever
Move lever to FAST (1) position to increase
engine speed. Move lever to SLOW (2) position

to decrease engine speed.

Tractor Pivot Lever
Push lever forward to Lower (1) position

to pivot front of tractor downward to
horizontal position.
Place lever in HOLD (2) position to hold
mower in mowing mode.

IMPORTANT: The lever must remain in
this position while mowing.
Pull lever backwards to LIFT (3) front of

tractor upwards to clear an obstacle or
for loading onto a trailer.
CAUTION: DO NOT travel at excessive
speeds or cause sudden stops with tractor in LIFT position. Unit is
less stable in this position.
IMPORTANT: Disengage PTO before pulling lever back to LIFT.
Mower Unit Lift Lever
To lower mower reels, move lever forward.
To raise mower reels, move lever rearward.
NOTE: If PTO switch is ON, the reel rotation will
start and stop as the reels are lifted and lowered
to prevent excessive wear and noise.
CAUTION: Reels will automatically start when
cutting units are lowered when the PTO switch is
engaged.

PTO Switch
The PTO (power take-off) switch is used to engage
and disengage the mower reels.

Lift switch to engage (1) mower reels.
Push switch down to disengage (2) mower reels.

OPERATION
TO STOP IN AN EMERGENCY
Turn ignition key to OFF.
PRE-START
Refer to tractor's owner manual for tractor pre-starting and
operation.
Transport the equipment to the area to be mowed.
Set cutting height. See Service and Adjustments.
ENGAGING MOWER
Refer to tractor's owner's manual for tractor starting and shut down.
To start mower:
1. Remove foot from direction control pedal to place unit in
neutral.
2. Move throttle lever to half speed.
3. Push Tractor Pivot Lever forward to lower tractor into
horizontal mow position. Move lever to center position to lock
tractor in desired position.
4. Push Mower Unit Lift Lever forward until the reel lift cylinder is
in full-lowered position.
NOTE: At this point the reel lift chains should be slack and the
mower reels able to float independently to follow changes in terrain.
If reel lift chains do not have sufficient slack, push Tractor Pivot
Lever forward to lower front of tractor.
5. Engage PTO and start reel rotation.
NOTE: If lift cylinder is not fully lowered the pivot arm will not
contact the reel-control switch and the mower reels will not rotate.
See Figure 17.

6. Move the throttle lever to FAST.
7. Depress direction control pedal to choose desired speed and
direction.
8. Mower reels will automatically stop when the mower reels are
lifted for turning or obstacles.
CAUTION: Mower reels will automatically start when cutting units
are lowered when the PTO switch is engaged.
To disengage mower reels, disengage PTO. Keep the PTO
disengaged when not mowing.
