    3. Mounting the searcher hook 3. Mounting the searcher hook ( T218391-007-0E ) If you are going to work with the searcher hook, follow the procedure below to mount it. ( The following describes the procedure for mounting the searcher hook, starting in the driving mode. ) ( 1 ) Preparations for mounting the searcher hook 1 ) Before you start mounting the searcher hook,...
  • Page 19 3. Mounting the searcher hook 6 ) Slowly lower the auxiliary wire rope to release the auxiliary hook. Then slowly lower the main wire rope to release the main hook. ( 2 ) Extending the boom 1 ) Set the "boom operation" to the ACS. 2 ) Extend the boom by about 1.2 m and set the boom angle to 0 degrees.

Mounting the searcher hook 3 ) Lower the boom to an angle of about -3 degrees so that the main hook rests on the ground. 4 ) Lower the auxiliary wire rope until the auxiliary hook almost contacts the ground. The overhoisting detector is disabled, so work with extra attention to the position of the auxiliary hook.
  • Page 21 3. Mounting the searcher hook 6 ) Remove the main winch rope socket from the front end of the boom. Remove the auxiliary winch rope socket from the auxiliary hook. NOTE The searcher hook operation is possible even while the main hook is mounted. In this case, perform the following procedures for the auxiliary winch only.
  • Page 22 3. Mounting the searcher hook 11 ) Attach the overhoisting canceler to the main hook limit switch. Put the overhoisting canceler into the extension/ retraction part of the limit switch sufficiently. If you fail to do so, the overhoisting canceler could come off the limit switch and the overhoisting detector will operate mistakenly.

Mounting the searcher hook ( 4 ) Stowing the auxiliary wire rope 1 ) Remove the auxiliary wire rope from the guide sheaves on the front end of the boom, and guides and guide rollers on the boom sections 2 to 5. 2 ) Hook the auxiliary wire rope on the rope guides located on the slewing table.

Be sure to insert the link set pins from the inside. Then install the washers and fasten the set pins with the quick pins from the outside.

    4. Removing the searcher hook 4. Removing the searcher hook ( T218391-017-0E ) ( 1 ) Preparations for removing the searcher hook 1 ) Before you start removing the searcher hook, make sure there are no other workers in the searcher hook movement area.

Removing the searcher hook ( 3 ) Relocating the connector for overhoisting detector 1 ) Disconnect the connector for overhoisting detector from the arm foot section. ・ Disconnect the connector by gripping the body of the connector itself. Never pull on the cord. Doing so could cause a broken circuit.
  • Page 37 4. Removing the searcher hook 3 ) Disconnect the connector for searcher hook detector from the front side of the front end of the boom. Insert it into the stowage plate on the arm foot section and attach the waterproof cap to fix it.

Never allow anyone into the searcher hook movement area while changing the searcher hook offset angle as this is extremely dangerous.
