Instructions on how to capture logs from Bipac 74xx.
1. Please turn off your Bipac 74xx.
2. Unplug the USB dongle from your router.
3. Plug the serial (RS232) 9 pins connecter to Ethernet converter to the computer's
RS232 serial port.

Connect up an Ethernet cable (RJ45) from the RS232 to Ethernet converter to the 74xx LAN port 4, then insert a second RJ45 cable into the computer’s LAN port and the other end of the RJ45 cable to LAN port 1 on the 74xx. Go to your computer then start Hyper Terminal program in windows.
  • Page 3 Enter test and pick any icon and click on “OK”. The next page will load and look like this. Please select “COM1” and click on “OK”...
  • Page 4 On the Bits per second please select “9600” as shown above. Also please select “None” on the Flow control and click on “OK”. You should now have this page. Please now turn on your device without the usb connected.
  • Page 5 You should see the following messages. Please wait for a while as the unit fully boots up. Once it has failed to detect the USB dongle you will see this page. If you are prompted to enter the username and password before the detection of the USB dongle please enter the default username “admin”...
  • Page 6 If not then the page will look the same as above. Enter your username as “admin” and the password “admin” Once you are logged in your will get the message “Login Successful”, as shown below. The cursor should be flashing next to admin as shown above. Then type “system trace enable usb_host debug”...
  • Page 7 Now please plug in your USB dongle into your device. The following logs will start to appear. Please wait around 3 minutes. Once three minutes are passed, please click on file, save as, and save the file to a location.
