1-PORT 10/100/1000M GIGABIT PoE+ EXTENDER USER MANUAL 1. Package Contents Thank you for purchasing FS IEEE 802.3at PoE+ Extender, POEX1. Open the box of the PoE+ Extender and carefully unpack it. The box should contain the following items: l IEEE 802.3at PoE+ Extender x 1 l User’s Manual x 1...
PoE Ethernet switch Connect the PoE OUT port of the POEX1 to the any of the following 802.3af/802.3at PD devices or connect to the other POEX1 unit through a CAT-5/5e/6 UTP cable: l PoE IP camera OUT Port l PoE VoIP phone...
The POEX1 is installed between the PSE (power source equipment) and the PD (powered device); it is powered by PSE and forwards the Ethernet data and remaining POE power to the PD. The POEX1 doesn’t require an external power supply and it can be installed easily by means of plug and play, meaning the operator does not need to configure the POEX1.
Step 2: The "OUT" port is a power injector that transmits data and power simultaneously between the PSE and PD. Step 3: Once the POEX1 detects an IEEE 802.3at / 802.3af PoE PD device, the “PoE OUT” LED indicator will light up in amber to show it...
1. If the connected device does not fully comply with the IEEE 802.3at/802.3af standard or in-line power device, the PoE OUT LED indicator of the POEX1 will not be turned on. 2. According to the IEEE 802.3at/802.3af standard, the POEX1 will not inject power if the PD is not the said standard. 4.4 Multiple PoE Extender Installation The POEX1 PoE+ Extender supports multiple units with daisy-chain installation.
Note: 1.Each POEX1 can withstand a maximum of 2.6 watts. Check the total power consumption of your IEEE 802.3at/af PD and the POEX1 before you make the daisy-chain connection. If the overall power consumption is overloaded, the local PSE could shut down the whole power system.
4.6 Optional - DIN-rail Mounting There are two DIN-rail holes on the left side of the POEX1 that allows it to be easily mounted on the DIN rail. If the DIN-rail mounting is opted, the DIN-rail mounting kit(RKE-DIN) has to be ordered as it is not included in the package. The following steps for DIN-rail mounting are shown below: Step 1: Screw the DIN-rail bracket on the POEX1.
1-PORT 10/100/1000M GIGABIT PoE+ EXTENDER USER MANUAL Step 3: Make sure the POEX1 unit is tightly fixed on the track. Cautions: You must use the screws supplied with the mounting brackets. Damage caused to the parts by using incorrect screws would invalidate your warranty.
