3. Installation of a #FT-C70 Fall Arrest Tower on the #SB-SM1 4-Arm Manway Mount
a. Install the #SB-SM1 4-Arm Manway Mount per the instructions in Step #2 of section 5.2 of this manual.
b. After the #SB-SM1 has been completely installed, remove the pin from the base of the fall arrest tower.
c. Place the fall arrest tower onto the #SB-SM1, center the base of the tower between the base lugs present on the
manway mount (Refer to Fig. 5.2f).
d. Align the holes of the fall arrest tower base with the holes of the base lugs on the #SB-SM1 and replace the tower's
retaining pin (Refer to Fig. 5.2g).
e. Adjust the leveling pegs in order to make the tower vertical (Refer to Fig. 5.2g). ! WARNING ! - The #FT-C70 fall
arrest tower can only be used for the anchoring of personal fall arrest systems when placed in a vertical position!
f. Utilize the installed fall arrest tower within the limits of and according to the instructions provided within the Model
#FT-C70 fall arrest tower's product manual.

!WARNING! - The maximum number of connected users permitted on the Model
#FT-C70 tower will be reduced to "2" when utilized in conjunction with the Model
#SB-SM1 tower base. Each connection to the tower must be made via a 900 LB.

published limits and capabilities. The rating of the installed
tower may supersede or derate the capabilities of the #SB-
SM1 manway mount.
