This equipment has been designed and manufactured to exceed fall arrest requirements and regulations in order to meet the needs of the discriminating operator. -

3.0 - Configuration & Assembly Upon initial receipt of the #SB-SM1 system, inspect the packaging for any evidence that the product may have been damaged in shipment. While unpacking the product, inspect all of the components for damage. If damage to any of the components is discovered, DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT! Alert the shipping carrier immediately of the damage to the shipment. -

4.6 - New Operator or Owner The Pelsue #SB-SM1 4-Arm Manway Mount is designed as a portable Base System for a Pelsue Model #FT-C70 fall arrest tower. Every new operator must read, understand and follow the instructions in this Product Manual. No person should be permitted to use the equipment without prior proper training. -

The Pelsue #SB-SM1 4-Arm Manway Mount is built from carbon steel & incorporates high-strength alloy steel hardware. The #SB-SM1 4-Arm Manway Mount is specifically designed to provide a compliant mounting point for a Pelsue Model #FT-C70 Fall Arrest Tower. All specifications, instructions, and procedures provided within this manual or upon Pelsue Specification Documents are based upon and only valid for usage with a Pelsue #FT-C70 Fall Arrest Tower. -

Loading Diagram users from 3 to 2. • The manway to which the #SB-SM1 is mounted to must have a cover installed, constructed of steel of at least 1/4” in thickness for safe mounting. • Mounting hardware must have a diameter of a 1/2” or greater. Do not mount the #SB-SM1 with any hardware of less than 1/2”... - Page 14 Secure the mount by sliding the slider blocks within the arms to the mounting holes on the manway (Refer to Fig. #5.2e). d. Ensure that the mounting base of the #SB-SM1 is as close to the center of the manway as possible. e. Tighten all hardware to standard dry torques according to the size of the mounting hardware.
- Page 15 Place the fall arrest tower onto the #SB-SM1, center the base of the tower between the base lugs present on the manway mount (Refer to Fig. 5.2f). d. Align the holes of the fall arrest tower base with the holes of the base lugs on the #SB-SM1 and replace the tower’s retaining pin (Refer to Fig. 5.2g).

6.1 - Maintenance For the most part, the Model #SB-SM1 is intended to be a maintenance-free piece of equipment, however several steps can be taken to keep the system in top-notch working order and also extend the working life of the product. - Page 17 Any binding could be indicative of damage to the arms.
