SECTION 7: SYSTEM DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

BILGE PUMP SYSTEMS

Example of Bilge Pumps Used.
The function of the bilge pump is to remove water that collects in the bilge, which is the bottom of the inside of the hull.
Your NauticStar Offshore will have types of 2 bilge pumps. 1 bilge pump will be an auto bilge pump and the other bilge pump
will be manually controlled. These pumps are rated in GPH (gallons per hour) and will pump water directly overboard. See
the table and pictures below for access, location, and rating information.
Auto Bilge
The Auto bilge pump will always be powered and automatically switch on when the water level in the bilge is high enough to
raise the float. The auto bilge pump will activate a light on the helm face switch panel when it is running. The auto bilge
pump is also able to be manually controlled. The manual control switch is located on the switch panel. Unless manual
control is desired, the auto bilge switch should be set in the "auto" position.
Manual Bilge
A secondary manual bilge pump will also be present if the option was selected. This bilge pump will be located adjacent to
the auto bilge pump. This bilge pump can be operated by an additional switch on the helm switch panel.
