HYBRID SERIES OWNER'S MANUAL
SECTION 9: AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES (AIS) MITIGATION
Aquatic invasive species are harmful, non-native plants, animals, and microorganisms living in aquatic habitats that damage
ecosystems or threaten commercial, agricultural, and recreational activities. Aquatic invasive species can be found in the
untreated water sources, either a natural source (a river or lake) or a human-made water body (a reservoir, canal, or stock
tank) that has not been treated for municipal use or human consumption.
AIS can be mitigated by the following:
• Avoid discharging live wells that were filled in one body of water in another body of water
• Clean and remove all plant parts and mud from external surfaces of boat, trailer, and equipment after an operational period
• Use the decontamination center located at some boat launches
