    The Gray Chain 3570 AIR offers the ultimate in simplicity and rugged design. Designed to be compact and self contained; the GrayChain 3570 does not require a stand-alone power pack. All the gripping pressure and spinning torque are generated at the drill pipe spinner.

    Hanging the Spinner The GrayChain 3570 should be hung using a wire rope that is ½” or greater and that is in accordance with acceptable practices. Attach the wire rope through the shackle at the top of the spring hanger assembly. Use of the GrayChain 3570 without the spring hanger assembly will shorten the life of the tool and cause improper operation which may lead to accidents.

    Troubleshooting Problem: Cause: Solution: Spinner does not clamp or Lack of air pressure. Air supply should be 100-125 psi @240 clamps slowly on drill pipe CFM. (or unclamp). Air hose, both supply and cylinder hoses are free, not pinched and without leaks. Check all connections for leaks or restrictions.

    The GrayChain 3570 has been designed with the ease of repair as an important feature. The 3570 is comprised of modular components so that any problem can be easily detected. Every component can be either repaired or replaced in the field keeping down time to a minimum.

    5. Feed the new chain into the spinner starting at the left Drive Roller and then to the left idler sprocket. 6. Feed the chain with slack behind the motor sprocket. 7. Now feed the chain to the right side of the case, first behind the right idler sprocket and then behind the right drive roller.

Make sure the GrayChain is off the drill pipe connection and in rest position on the derrick. 2. Shut down the supply of power from the source or from the shut off valve. 3.

    Lubrication The 3570 should be inspected and greased each week. For higher ambient temperature up to 86° Fahrenheit (30° Celsius) we recommend to use NLGI grade 2.
