This manual explains how to operate the Setup Program for a V400-R Series multi-code
reader.
For convenience, V400-R Series multi-code readers are collectively referred to as "code
reader" in this document.
IMPORTANT:
The Setup Program is a sample program that is provided for demonstration purpose.
Please note that some of the functionality of the software may not work properly or the contents of
the manual may differ slightly from what you see on your screen.

    II. Starting the Setup Program From the Start menu, select “Programs”, “OMRON”, and “Configure for V400-R1”. The software starts and the main window appears.

    2. Main menu This section explains the main menu buttons on the operation screen. Main menu: ⑥ ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ ① Reads the current configuration of the code reader from it to your PC. ② Allows you to view the reading rate. ! CAUTION ! Configurations associated with the code when checking the reading rate are to be measured during initial setup.

If the count-up window does not appear but an error message as shown below appears when you click the “Download settings”, check the following before resetting the code reader power and then perform read-operations.
  • Page 12 “Cont. reading” button When you click the “Cont. reading” button, the following window appears, in which you can view the data read in the continuous read mode. “SingleRead(Time)” button A single read operation is performed. You can measure read time including time taken to send commands.

When you select “Upload Settings”, the following window appears, and the program starting writing to the code reader. When you select “WPC”, the following dialog box appears. ① ② ③ ① You can specify whether or not to permit for reading UPC (or EAN). (JAN is included in EAN.) Deselect the appropriate checkbox not to permit for reading.

Select one from “Not transfer ST/SP”, “Transfer ST/SP (ABCD/TN*E)”, “Transfer ST/SP (abcd/tn*e)”, “Transfer ST/SP (ABCD/ABCD)”, “Transfer ST/SP (abcd/abcd)”, and “Transfer ST/SP (DC1 DC2 DC3 DC4)”.

However, some codes are white on a black background. Printing a bar code in black on a white background is called “normal mode”. Printing a bar code in white on a black background is called “reverse mode”.

When a code that matches one of the registered codes is scanned, a successful read signal is output from an external IO; otherwise, a failed read signal is output.

The following tables show the states of the OK and NG signals for each sequencer output format when a match is detected and when a mismatch is detected.
