    - 1 - ME14003C 1. GENERAL This instruction manual describes the installation and maintenance procedures for the Rotor Target, which is to be mounted in the high-intensity X-ray generators. For the X-ray generators in which the Rotor Target can be mounted and the other related equipment, refer to their respective manuals. It is also well to remember that the Rotor Target needs to be repaired or serviced in our factory to secure the performance it possesses at shipment.

    - 4 - ME14003C 4. INSTALLING THE ROTOR TARGET IN AN X-RAY TUBE 4.1 Unpacking (1) Check the packing for breakage and other abnormality. (2) After unpacking, check all supplied items with a LIST OF SUPPLIED ITEMS (section 3). (3) Check for no flaw on the surface of the Rotor Target. Stripes on the surface of the Rotor Target are the traces of electronic beams and do not constitute any problem.

    - 5 - ME14003C 5. MAINTENANCE 5.1 Cleaning the Surface of a Target (1) Remove any burnt material buildup on the central part using fine sandpaper. Except Cu, be sure to polish the surface of a target along the circumference. Polishing the target surface toward the axis may cause dust scraped off from Cu, which is the cup's main material, and improperly enter an area other than the central section of Cu, thereby causing an adverse effect on measurements.
