    1. Introduction The HOLUX GR-83 Engine Board is a total solution GPS receiver, designed based on SiRF GSC3f architecture. The GR-83 Ver. A can connect with Holux’s GPS module: GR-85, GR-86, GR-87 and PG-32. The GR-83 Ver. B can connect with Holux’s GPS module: GR-85, GR-87, GR-89 and PG-32.

    On-board RTCM SC-104 DGPS and WAAS /EGNOS Demodulator Built-in a lithium battery make GPS fast positioning. Ver. A compatible to Holux’s GR-88 module on top side, GR-86 module on bottom side. Ver. B compatible to Holux’s GR-88 module on top side, GR-89 module on bottom side.

As soon as the initial self-test is complete, the GR-83 begins the process of satellite acquisition and tracking automatically. Under normal circumstances, it takes approximately 42 seconds to achieve a position fix, 38 seconds if ephemeris data is known.

    RTCM SC-104 format, with message types 1,2, or 9. As using DGPS receiver with different communication parameters, GR-83 may decode the data correctly to generate accurate messages and save them in battery-back SRAM for later computing.

    Additional Software SiRFdemo is the Evaluation Receiver configuration and monitoring software provided with the GR-83. This software can be used to monitor real-time operation of the GR-83 Receiver, log data for analysis, upload new software to the Receiver, and configure the Receiver operation.
