Problems / solutions

• Is the appliance plugged in?
• Is the cooking basket with the sieve insert fully inserted into the appliance?
If the cooking basket is not correctly locked into the appliance, the
contact switch will not be activated and the appliance cannot be
switched on.
• Is the cooking basket too full? Observe the MAX-mark.
• Is the locking mechanism stuck or damaged? Check the cooking basket
and the housing.
• Too much food in the basket? Try cooking a smaller portion.
Cut them slightly smaller, if necessary.
• Was the temperature set too low? Set the appliance to a higher temperature.
• Is the cooking time too short? Set a longer cooking time on the appliance.
• Food that is overlapping in the basket (e.g. chips), must be turned or
shaken after half of the cooking time has elapsed so that it cooks evenly.
• Is the food you wish to cook suitable for cooking in the oven?
Snacks which are specially designed to be deep-fried will not get crispy
in the hot air fryer.
• If necessary, put a small amount of oil onto the food before you place
it in the basket. Do not put any oil into the cooking basket.
• Did you used a suitable potato variety? You need to use waxy potatoes.
Cut the chips thinner if necessary.
• Did you wash the potatoes properly? Too much starch prevents the chips
from becoming crispy.
• Were the raw potato sticks too wet before cooking?
Dry off the potato sticks before coating them in oil and placing them into
the cooking basket.
• Oil or fat from the food is dripping through the sieve insert into
the cooking basket. This makes the cooking basket slightly hotter.
However, this is harmless and does not affect the cooking result.
• Use ingredients which have as little fat as possible. Use fat and oil
very sparingly.
• Gently pat down marinated ingredients so that no excess marinade
or meat juices drip into the cooking basket. For breaded foods, gently
compress the breadcrumb coating before cooking.
• Clean the cooking basket and sieve insert thoroughly after every use
to remove any fat or oil residue.
