POOR PRINTING
The overall print
quality is poor.
MISCELLANEOUS
A paper jam occurred.
Print lines overlap.
The print is skewed.
Printed pages have
garbled characters.
Envelopes are fogged

Possible Cause
The cleaning mechanism
in the EP-S cartridge is
not working properly.
The print medium is not
the recommended type.
There is an obstruction
in the paper path.
The vertical pitch
setting is incorrect.
The print medium is not
the recommended type.
Paper is not loaded
in the cassette
properly.
Incorrect printer features
were selected.
Print density setting is too
light.
Corrective Action
Replace the EP-S cartridge
(Section 7.3).
See Chapter 5 for print media
specifications.
See Section 6.7 for instructions on
clearing paper jams.
Correct the vertical pitch setting
in your application program.
See Chapter 5 for print media
specifications.
Reload paper in the cassette
(Section 2.6.1).
Check to see that the baud rate
and data bits/parity format
match the host computer settings
(Section 4.5.6).
Increase the print density setting
by selecting a lower number on
the print density dial (Section 2.10).
