In addition to the manual SPL meter feature, the DPR 1001/AVR 7200
remote offers the following features and functions:
LCD Menu Text Readout for Quick and Easy Programming
Step-by-step instructions for all programming and setup tasks appear on the LCD screen, with easy-to-follow prompts
for programming instructions.
Device Programming by Brand
With Harman Kardon's new LCD remote, programming remote codes is easier than ever. Instead of having to look up and
remember multidigit codes for each device, you simply scroll through a list of product brand names and press a few buttons.
The remote may be easily programmed in minutes without the need to refer back to the Owner's Manual.
Source Device Renaming
Like most modern audio/video receivers, Harman Kardon uses standard designations of "VID 1" and "VID 2" for the source inputs.
However, today's wide range of source-component choices often makes it difficult to remember which device a user has assigned
to which input, and which button has a specific function. Harman Kardon ends that confusion with its LCD remote by making it
possible to easily change the name of each source device, so that, for example, when the "VID 3" button is pressed, the remote
will read "Cable Box," or whatever name is desired.
Learned Button Function Name Titling
The LCD remote not only learns commands from other remotes, it lets any key be renamed so that the specific function appears
in the LCD display when the button is pushed. Key commands, including the transport controls and channel-selector functions, for
many devices are already preprogrammed, but unique functions, such as "Live TV" for a hard-drive product or the new command
functions from the latest HDTV tuners, may be easily learned. With today's home theater systems undergoing continual technology
change and upgrading, Harman Kardon's advanced learning and button titling features provide significant flexibility for functions yet
to be introduced.
PVR Remote Codes
Harman Kardon's remote is among the first to include the codes for the popular TiVo
(PVR) in its onboard code library, which makes it easy to add a PVR to a Harman Kardon system.
Dual-Quad Control Pads
The remote introduces dual-quad control pads, making it possible to conveniently integrate a large number of functions in a
compact device. The upper control pad contains the navigation and control functions for most receiver commands, while the
lower control pad provides source device control. Preprogrammed to operate a DVD player, the lower pad, along with the
discrete transport controls, allows for simultaneous control of a source device and the receiver without the need to switch the
remote back and forth between device types.
