    Chapter 4 Wire-Free NVR Starting up 4.1 Startup Wizard The Startup Wizard helps to quickly and easily configure the system. 4.1.1 Start Wizard Click the Start Wizard to proceed to the next step. 4.1.2 Network Configuration If your router provides a DHCP server, check the DHCP select box to use DHCP to assign network compatible parameters for your NVR.

It consists of four groups of numbers from 0 to 255, separated by periods. For example, “192.168.001.100”. Subnet Mask: Subnet mask is a network parameter which defines a range of IP addresses that can be used in a network.

Time Format: Choose either the 24Hour or 12Hour time format. Time Zone: Set the time zone you prefer to use (usually your local time zone).

    4.1.4 Disk If an HDD is newly installed in the NVR, it must be formatted. Select the HDD, and then click the Format HDD button to format the HDD. Formatting erases all information from the HDD. Overwrite: Use this option to overwrite the oldest recordings on the HDD when the HDD is full. For example, if you choose the option 7 days then only the last 7 days recordings are kept on the HDD.

    4.1.6 Mobile If your NVR has a P2P ID, you can scan the QR code with your mobile app to view the NVR remotely. 4.1.7 Summary You can check the system summary information you setup through the Start Wizard. Check the select box for Don't show this window next time if you don’t want to open the Start Wizard the next time the system starts up.

    4.2 Live View Screen Status Icons This icon indicates that the NVR is recording normally. This icon appears when the camera has detected motion. This icon indicates that the HDD is in error This icon indicates the HDD is unformatted This icon indicates the HDD is full.

  • Page 21: Chapter 5 Wire-Free Nvr System Setup

    Chapter 5 Wire-Free NVR System Setup Open the Setup menu to configure the Wire-Free NVR (NVR) for Channel, Record, Alarm, Network, Device and System parameters. To open the setup menu, go to Start Menu  Setup. 5.1 Channel Use these menus to configure a wireless camera, the Live View display, manage wireless cameras motion setup, and setup Video Cover.

    5.1.1 Channel Wireless Camera Channel: Indicates the channel number. Channel Name: You may edit the channel name. Setup: You can set parameters such as channel and time. Pair State: Click the channel button to starting pairing. Post Recording: You can select Continuous, or select 10 s, 20 s or 30 s. The default is 10 s. Camera version: Camera firmware version.

    Wireless Channel Region: You can choose the region Wireless Mode: Select either Auto or Manual. 5.1.2 Video Cover If you want to cover specific parts of the image for privacy, you can create camera images with up to 4 privacy zones in any size and location. Enable privacy zones and then choose how many privacy zones you want to configure.

    Note: The privacy zone you set up is obscured during live broadcast and video recording. 5.1.3 Deterrence Use Deterrence to set parameters related to the white light alarm. Channel: Display channel number.

    Light Switch: Turn the light warning on or off. Light Duration: The lighting time can be set between 5 seconds and 180 seconds. Light Mode: Choose either continuous on or flashing. Strobe Frequency: Use this option to select the Light Warning mode frequency: high, middle or low. Deterrence Mode: You can choose either Normal or Full-color night vision.

    The recording schedule is valid only for one channel. If you want to use the same recording schedule for other channels, use Copy To function. Channel: Select the channel to set its recording parameters. PIR and Motion: When the time slot is marked yellow, the channel records only when a motion is detected during that time slot.
  • Page 27 Channel: Display channel number. Switch: Disable this feature or enable PIR and Motion Buzzer: The NVR can use its internal buzzer to emit an alarm tone. You can set the buzzer duration in seconds to sound when motion is detected. Area: Click the Setup icon to open the setup page.

    Motion status: Shows when the motion is not detected, or shows when the motion is detected. Copy: Click to copy parameter setup for CH1 to all channels and choose which channel(s) you want to record when the motion detection is triggered. Default: Click Default to use default parameters.

    Show Message: Click and select ON to display a message on the screen when a No Space on Disk, Disk Error, or Video Loss event occurs. Select OFF to disable these messages. Send Email: Click and select ON for the NVR to send an automated email when an event occurs.
  • Page 30 DNS1/DNS2: DNS1 is the primary DNS server and DNS2 is a backup DNS server. 5.4.1.1 General Wireless Network Use the following menu to specify the wireless network the NVR will use to connect to other devices. SSID (Service Set Identifier) is your Wi-Fi network’s name. Click SCAN to find your SSID. Password: Enter password of the Wi-Fi network.

    5.4.1.2 Port Configuration Web Port: This is the port that you will use to log in remotely to the Wire-Free NVR (e.g. using the Web Client). If the default port 80 is already in use by other applications, select a different port. Client Port: This is the port that the Wire-Free NVR will use to send information through.
  • Page 32 5.4.2.1 Email Configuration Email: Check the select box to enable email. Encryption: Enable if your email server requires the SSL or TLS verification. If you are not sure, set to Auto. SMTP Port: Enter the SMTP port of your email server. SMTP Server: Enter the SMTP server address of your email.
  • Page 33 User Name: Enter your email address. Password: Enter the password for your email account. Receiver 1~3: Enter the email address where you want to receive the event notifications from the NVR. Interval: Configure the length of the time interval between notification emails from the NVR. To make sure all settings are correct, click Test Email.
  • Page 34 5.4.2.4 Voice Assistant Use this feature to initiate functions with voice commands. It integrates with Amazon or Google. NOTE: Currently, this feature is not available.

    5.5 Device Use this menu to configure the internal HDD. 5.5.1 Disk Use this menu to check and configure the internal HDD(s). If you replace an HDD, you may need to format the HDD the next time you start the system. Format HDD: Select the HDD you want to format and then click Format HDD.

    5.5.2 Cloud Upload pictures and/or video to cloud storage. 5.6 System Change general system information such as date, time and region, edit passwords and permissions, etc.

    5.6.1 General Device Name: Enter the preferred name for your NVR. The name can include both letters and numbers. Device ID: Enter the preferred ID for your NVR. The device ID is used to identify the Wire-Free NVR, and can only be composed of numbers. For example, if two NVRs are installed in the same location, the Device ID can be 000000 for one and 111111 for another.
  • Page 38 5.6.1.1 Date and Time Date: Click the calendar icon to change the date. Time: Click the dialogue box to change the time. Date Format: Select the preferred date format. Time Format: Select the preferred time format. Time Zone: Select a time zone relevant to your region or city. 5.6.1.2 NTP Settings The NTP (Network Time Protocol) feature allows your Wire-Free NVR to periodically sync its clock with a time server clock.
  • Page 39 Check to enable the NTP, and select a Server Address, click Update Now to manually sync the date and time. Click Apply to save your settings. When NTP function is enabled, system will update the system time at 00:07:50 per day, or every time when the system is starting up.

    Week: Select the month, day and time when Daylight Saving starts and ends. For example, 2 AM on the first Sunday of a particular month. Date: Select the start date (click the calendar icon), end date and time when Daylight Saving starts and ends.

    5.6.2.1 LIVE-OUT Choose LIVE-OUT from the Video Output drop-down menu. Output Resolution: Select a display resolution that is best for your monitor. 1920 x 1080 works with most monitors. If your NVR supports more output resolution, you can select either 1024 x 768, 1280 x1024, 1440 x 900, 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 for that output resolution.
  • Page 42 The system supports the following account types: ADMIN: System Administrator: The administrator has full control of the system, and can change both administrator and user passwords and enable/disable password protection. USER: Normal User: Users have access to Live View, search, playback, and other functions. You may set up multiple user accounts with varying levels of access to the system.

If you want to disable the password protection, please ensure your Wire-Free NVR is installed in a secured location. 5.6.3.2 Add New Users Select one of the user accounts that is currently disabled, and then click the User Edit icon...

Click Save to save your changes. 5.6.4 Maintenance Use the Maintenance menus to search for and view the system log, load default settings, upgrade the system, export and import system parameters and manage system auto reboot.
  • Page 46 5.6.4.1 Log The system log shows important system events, such as motion alarms and system warnings. You can easily create a backup file of system log message for a set time period and save it to a USB flash drive.

  • Page 48 5.6.4.2 Load Default Reset the NVR settings to its default, out-of-box state. You can choose to reset all settings at once, or just settings on specific menus. Restoring default settings will not delete recordings and snapshots saved to the hard drive. Check the items you want restore, or check Select All to choose all items.

Load Settings: After creating a system settings export file, you can import the settings on another NVR or restore the settings on the NVR the file was created on.     Chapter 6 Search, Playback and Backup Use the Search function to search for and play recorded videos and snapshots that are stored on the NVR hard drive. You can play video files that match your recording schedule, manual recordings or motion events only.

    Chapter 7 Remote Access via Web Client Use the Web Client to remotely access your Wire-Free NVR with a PC. Before you access the Web Client, ensure that the network settings of the Wire-Free NVR are configured properly. The most convenient and easiest way is to configure the NVR with a static IP address (see “5.4.1 Network”).

    Check the select box for the record file you want to download, and then click the Start Download button. System will download the record file in sequence and save it on your local PC. The progress of the download is displayed on a status bar. When the download finishes, “Complete” is displayed on the status bar.
